The History of the Stearman

Our Boeing Stearman bi-plane entered service in 1943 and was used as a primary trainer for cadets in the U.S. Navy during WWII. In the hands of new naval cadets, these aircraft lived a rough life teaching the basics and challenges of airmanship. In 2010, a restoration of this aircraft was completed. While the stock engine was a 220 HP engine, this plane was upgraded to a 450 HP engine. The cruise speed is 110 MPH and full flight controls can be found in both cockpits.
